MUBS signs MOU with UBTEB, diploma holders to join courses in Year two

Monday, February 10, 2020

Makerere University Business School has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) that will enable diploma holders who join the bachelor’s degree programs to study in the second year.
This differs from the current arrangement where they would have to join alongside the students from senior six and study for the entire 3 years.
According to the principal of MUBS Professor Wasswa Balunywa, the partnership with UBTEB will see students who will pass UBTEB diploma courses in business programs study for only two years at MUBS. This move is welcomed in a positive light by members from the community who saw it wise to reduce the load by a year.
UBTEB executive secretary Onesimus Oyesigye says that this is going to start with students who are going to sit for May-June exams. We shall keep updated with news about this development.
